WHOOOAAAA!

We are almost 3 weeks into 2021 and things just keep getting crazier!!! So 2020 was probably one of the most messed up years in the history of the world. We had BLACK LIVES MATTER and the George Flyod protests, we had Corona, we had lockdowns, deaths, sickness and so much other crazy stuff that I’m losing track…

2020 wasn’t all bad though!!!!!

So I had an amazing 2020 starting off with a cycling award from Team Ontario, seeing Barack Obama speak, getting my own award named after me at Pickering High School, as well as launching a documentary on AMI.

Then there were the podcasts! I was the guest on several podcasts in 2020!

I met Danny Stone, an amazing life coach at the Knew Me Book launch back in January of 2020 where I got another huge push from like minded individuals.

Next there was the IZ adaptive and Izzy Camilleri game changer pants and interviews with Global TV!

Following that was the podcast with BLOG T.O and another podcast for a student and her blog about accessible fashion.

Then there was the Intelligence Motivational Podcast with David Naylor! This guy is amazing and can’t wait to pick his brain some more!

BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE. I completed my Rick Hansen Accessibility Certification Course and exam and started a new “career” in accessibility consulting!

In cycling, I was officially labelled a development athlete in the National Cycling Program and finally received national carding! This is where the government gives you money to assist in your training so that I can focus on what’s truly important and that’s getting faster and stronger on the bike.

Then there was the SPARK presentation fireside chat with Katie Zeppieri! That was a lot of fun and a super in depth interview where you get to know a lot more about who I really am and where I come from! These were just some of the highlights..

.O yea did I mention that I joined a car crew and I’m building a race car?!

There is one more big announcement though…I will always preach and tell people not to give up on their dreams because you just never know what can happen if you just give it all you got! You will never see all of the people you influence or inspire, you won’t know how many people you have helped off the ledge. When the coach of the University of Arizona comes head hunting for another member to add to their Division 1 cycling team YOU SAY YES!

It definitely was not an easy decision that I took lightly at all…especially with everything that I have going on in my life on a daily basis. To take on a full university course load on top of training is probably the craziest adventure I am embarking on to date. This has come full circle and one day we will do a video chat and question period about highschool and everything that happened leading up to me losing my first scholarship almost 15 years ago!

Today I woke up feeling renewed and super energetic despite the news of more restrictions coming down in the next hour or so…

One thing is for sure with all of the craziness going on in the world right now is that you need to worry about you and your own!

Don’t worry about other people and what they are doing or not doing! If you are not in a place where you are comfortable with yourself and who you are, your goals and dreams, clarity on where you want to go next in your life then now is the time where you figure your shit out! Plain and simple! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…You cannot help anyone, if you cannot help yourself! It’s the airplane analogy, put your mask on first and then help others…When you are good yourself, start thinking of ways you can help others!

Honestly I am so happy and at peace right now with where I am at in my life. I am a person that will not settle, a person that will not be happy with being stagnant or sitting around for too long not doing anything. I will always push myself to do more, to be more, to explore more and be the best that I can be! Everyday I ry to be just a little bit better than the day before and I encourage you to do the same. You only live one life and when you die, how will people remember you?! What will be your legacy?????
